Melanie MacQueen

Melanie MacQueen is a working actress/writer/director and teacher in the Los Angeles area. Currently, she runs Theatre 40's free after school program (KIDS ACTING OUT!) teaching acting to kids. (See box below)

She has directed several shows at Theatre 40, most recently the 2008 Christmas show Christmas Pudding. Past writing projects of note include the satirical musical In the Name of God: or honk if you love satire (along with Composer David Coleman) which won three ADA awards (including Best Book and Lyrics).

Three of her children's plays, which first appeared here at Theatre 40, will shortly be published through JAC Publishing.

Highlights of her on screen character actress career are appearances in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Mousehunt (with Nathan Lane) and a fun bit in Doc Hollywood (with Michael J. Fox).

On stage, she has most recently appeared in The Manor at Greystone Mansion, and as Letitia Baldridge in We'll Never be Young Again at the Kirk Douglas Theatre.

Her ongoing acting "pay the bills" job is as the spokeperson for the Virginia Lottery in her long running character, Lady Luck.
