Monroe Martin
no tv credits......YET !

Monroe Martin is a colorful and imaginative comedian with years of professional experience, and a lifetime of hard knock experiences to spin into side-splitting stories. You usually wouldn’t find Monroe’s story laughable. After all, how inappropriate is it to laugh a foster kid who jumped around from one dysfunctional family to another? Sit in audience of one of Martin’s performances and you’ll find yourself laughing at his adversity. Martin utilizes his charisma, honest and open storytelling to universalize his experiences. Audiences emphasize & laugh as Martin simply tells it how it is. Monroe Martin knew his story was one that could inspire and knew it was one that had to be shared. For Monroe, it was only a matter of how he would share his story. He wanted to be a social worker or counselor and encourage young people just like him; however, he found he was better at making light of his past and making people laugh. So one month, before his 22nd birthday, he decided to pursue comedy. Although, Martin was sure he was hilarious, the audience disagreed. Needless to say, during this first show, Martin learned he was the joke. One bad show couldn’t stop Monroe Martin; as a matter of fact, two months of bad shows wouldn’t stop Martin from pursuing what he was destined to do. That perseverance and determination catapulted Martin’s career. He performed show after show, taking away what worked and what didn’t. Like any true comedian, Martin studied and practiced his craft, penned his own jokes and finally found his comedic voice. Monroe Martin’s hysterical, intelligent, creative, charismatic, and open comedic voice has created a buzz within the Philadelphia comedy circuit, and has earned him respect among his peers. Monroe is on his way to becoming the type of comedian he admires—one who says exactly what he wants, the way he wants to say it. Monroe idolizes these types of comedians because it takes gut to say how you truly feel right or wrong, especially about the taboo and controversial. By saying what he wants, how he wants, Monroe Martin is creating his legacy of being one of the funniest comedians in America. To Monroe Martin, life experiences make a good comedian. He says “All good comedians tell life experience through their unique perspectives.” Based on his experience, Martin has the makings of a great comedian, and is well on his way.
